Holiday Simmer Pot

Nothing quite says the holidays like the comforting and festive ambiance of a simmer pot.

A holiday simmer pot not only fills your space with delightful aromas but also adds a touch of seasonal magic to your surroundings. In this blog, we'll explore the art of crafting the perfect holiday simmer with our Cedar Floral essential oil.

Ingredients
:

  • Cedar Floral Essential Oil - an enchanting fusion of warm, woody notes of cedarwood complemented by delicate floral hints.
  • Fruits: Oranges and apples are the perfect duo in this recipe.
  • Spices: Cinnamon sticks and star anise bring warmth and a hint of spice to the mix.
  • Pine or Cedar Branches: Embrace the outdoors by adding a few branches of pine or cedar for a woodsy aroma.
  • Dried Fruits: Cranberries bring a touch of sweetness and classic nostalgia.

Instructions:

  • Prepare Your Simmer Pot: Choose a pot that is heat-resistant and can simmer on low heat for an extended period. Add water to the pot, leaving enough room for your ingredients.

  • Slice and Dice: Cut your citrus fruits into slices or wedges.

  • Combine Ingredients: Add your sliced fruits, spices, pine or cedar branches, dried fruits, and essential oil to the pot. Adjust the quantities based on your preferences.

  • Simmer Slowly: Place the pot on the stove over low heat. As the water warms up, the ingredients will release their aromatic compounds, filling your home with a delightful holiday scent. Keep an eye on the water level and add more as needed.

Enjoy the Aromas: Allow the simmer pot to work its magic for as long as you desire. Whether you're hosting a holiday gathering or simply enjoying a cozy evening at home, the inviting scents will create an irresistibly warm and soothing atmosphere.

DIY Wreath

Crafting your own DIY dried autumn wreath is a wonderful way to embrace the changing season and add a touch of handmade charm to your home. This creative project not only captures the essence of the season but also provides a unique and long-lasting decor piece. Join us on a journey through the steps of creating a stunning dried autumn wreath that will infuse your home with the colors and textures of fall.

Materials Needed:

  • Cedar Floral Essential Oil: This just so happens to have the perfect autumn scent mixing warm woodsy notes with a hint of festive florals.

  • Wreath Base: Start with a wreath base, which can be a grapevine wreath, a foam wreath form, or even a wire frame.

  • Dried Flowers and Foliage: Collect an assortment of dried flowers and foliage that embody the autumn aesthetic. Look to elements like dried eucalyptus, pampas grass, dried hydrangeas, and preserved leaves in rich fall hues.

  • Seed Pods and Berries: Texture is important here so get creative with seed pods, berries, or small dried fruits.

  • Clippers + Scissors: You’ll be doing plenty of shearing and cutting to get things arranged just right.

  • Wire or Floral Tape (Ribbon optional): Have floral wire or tape on hand to secure the dried elements to the wreath base. Ribbon can be used at the end for a decorative touch.

Steps:

  • Arrange and Design: Start by laying out your dried flowers and foliage. Experiment with different arrangements until you find a design that suits you. Grouping similar elements
  • together can create a balanced and visually appealing wreath. But don’t be afraid to mix and match textures and colors.

  • Attach Elements to the Base: Secure the dried elements to the wreath base using floral wire or tape. Start with larger items and work your way to smaller details, ensuring that each element is firmly attached.

  • Add the Essential Oil: Generously pour 6-10 drops all around your wreath to make it smell irresistible!

  • Add Ribbon or Twine: Once your wreath is complete you can either hang it on its own for a minimalistic classic look or attach a ribbon. Consider adding a bow or letting the ends drape down for an elegant touch.

  • Hang and Admire: Find the perfect spot to showcase your handmade dried autumn wreath. Whether on your front door or as a centerpiece indoors, show off your creation and let the beauty of fall shine through!
